Close to the end of last school year, Zamboanga del Norte National High School administration, faculty, staff, local barangay officials, students and parents were in close witness to the ceremonial transfer of the symbolic key to the newly turned-over 6 four-storey buildings located in three campuses of ZNNHS.

The symbolic turn-over was graced by the following dignitaries in order of transfer: District Engineer Inocencio O. Sabugal, Department of Public Works and Highways-1st Engineering District; Governor Roberto Y. Uy, Provincial Governor; City Councilor Marilou Calibo, Chairman of the Committee on Education and Culture and representing the city mayor; Dr. Jay S. Montealto, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent, Dipolog City Division; and to Public Schools Division Supervisor and the then-school principal, Dr. Edgardo S. Cabalida.

Each dignitary expressed his and her all-out support to quality education in addressing the foremost need to provide quality school buildings that would cater the increasing number of students. Each of them significantly contributed to the realization of the ‘Build, Build, Build Program’ of the present Duterte administration.

The then-school principal Dr. Cabalida labored on the fruition of the school’s long time dream. He expressed his gratitude for this profound realization, addressing the needs of the school and the teachers, and significantly to the public who deserve nothing less from a huge esteemed school.

“The edifices would stand long until the next and more generations of young learners. These classrooms are venues of quality teaching and learning where students build their hopes and dreams,” Dr. Cabalida added.

It can be noted that ZNNHS has the highest number of students among public schools in the city division. Four of the buildings are located at the Main Campus, Estaka, Dipolog City; one at Turno Campus, Turno, Dipolog City; and one at Miputak Campus, Miputak, Dipolog City. These six buildings had a total cost of Php 185, 176, 940. 78 which funds came from the 2nd Congressional District Office.

Present also in this Turn-Over Rites were Vice-Governor Senen Angeles, Board Members Boy Lee and Crisologo Decierdo, Barangay Councilors Joe Elbert Sorronda, Reynaldo Velasco and Adolfo Columnas, PTA President Peter Cuenca and the local media.
