The Zamboanga del Norte National High School – Main Campus conducted its Quarterly Convocation for junior high school students in the Main Campus quadrangle on August 17, 2019. The quarterly giving of awards as adopted in the DO 36, s. 2016 entitled “Policy Guidelines for Awards and Recognition for K to 12 Basic Education Program”, is designed to formally recognize learners who have achieved academic excellence.
Assistant School Principal II of Senior High School Dexter A. Elumba, along with Department Heads Luz D. Cortez, Merlina T. Tomales, and Chona M. Miranda, facilitated the ceremony. They administered the giving of awards to the deserving students who had achieved outstanding academic performance and perfect attendance during the first quarter of this school year. The ceremony was attended by proud parents, faculty, and staff of the said institution.
The Convocation aimed to inspire all students to strive for excellence. As emphasized by Dr. Edgardo S. Cabalida (PSDS) in his speech, “Everyone must be careful with his actions as it becomes a habit that eventually leads to a good or bad attitude.” This relates to the famous quote of Sterling W Sill that states, “We get good grades or poor grades – according to our attitudes”. Hence, all parents and teachers were encouraged to guide the students well for them to develop desirable traits needed in attaining success.
